Alan Wake’s first DLC episode due on June 27
Even though the game just released today, Microsoft and Remedy have already lined up plans for Alan Wake downloadable content. The first DLC package, entitled The Signal, will be available on June 27 and will be free to purchasers of new copies of the game.
As part of its release day announcement, Microsoft has provided the initial details of Alan Wake’s first round of downloadable content. The first new DLC will be called “The Signal,” and it will serve as an additional episode in the game’s story. While there will be a code included with new copies of the game to allow for free downloads, Microsoft has yet to reveal pricing for players who rent, borrow, or buy the game used.
In a recent interview the development team at Remedy described the entirety of Alan Wake’s on-disc story as the game’s “first season.” Thankfully, players won’t be stuck with reruns for long, given the short wait for the first follow-up episode, and Microsoft executive Robbie Bach promising even more content down the line.
